Be part of a unique local ride!

Are you looking for something a bit different? We have the motorcycle ride for you and it benefits local Cub Scouts, Boy Scouts, Venture Crews and Explorer Posts in our communities along the way!

This is our inaugural 2017 Camp Big Timber Ride with plans to make this an annual event. We are bringing motorcycling together with scouting in a big way. The ride is the focus of the day though we will also have a full program to round out the day’s ride.

Camp Big Timber (CBT) is a beautiful 70+ acre camp used for various activities benefiting our Scouts and Scouters as well as other local area organizations. CBT is located just west of Randall Road on Big Timber Road in Elgin.

Our Camp Big Timber Ride will begin at Fox River Harley-Davidson in Saint Charles on Saturday, September 16, 2017 with rider check-in beginning at 9:00AM and KSU at 10:30AM.

The ride will last over 1 1/2 hours heading through the countryside west and north from Fox River HD to eventually finish at Camp Big Timber. Once there we will be treated to a cookout, program including some biker versus scouts activities and for the more adventurous, camping and an evening adult cracker barrel if you choose.

We are planning a day of activities for our riders and Scouts alike after the ride. Everyone will have an opportunity to talk about and show motorcycles.

We will even have a little friendly competition between bikers and Scouts combining some outdoor skills and physical challenges. See if you have what it takes to win against a 10-year old Scout!

We will of course keep you well hydrated and fed during the events to keep your energy levels high.

Our ride day is not necessarily over once the ride is done! Besides the food and programs throughout the day, you will also have an opportunity to do some camping Saturday night. The overnight camping is only available to riders during this event though Scouts are encouraged to participate during the program portion of the day.

You can choose to camp with us and enjoy some nice campfires and a cracker barrel. The weather should be great for having an excellent tent camping or small trailer camping experience (no hookups). It will be a great time to just relax after a full day of riding and activities.
