Shuba’s Tavern, also known as Schuba’s for short, is one of Chicago’s favorite bar and live entertainment venues. Located in the Lake View neighborhood, the Shuba’s building was originally built in 1903 as a saloon for a Schlitz Brewery
project. In 1988, Chris and Michael Schuba bought the Chicago facility. Shortly after the purchase was made, Schuba’s Chicago underwent extensive phases of renovation and restoration. The new and improved Schuba’s venue features 2 mahogany bars, a kitchen, tin ceilings, an ornate exterior and a private banquet space. Schuba’s is also divided into two spaces (the main bar and the performance space) by a door. The unique arrangement at Chicago’s Schuba’s along with its outstanding menu and entertainment, make it a definite city hot spot!
After more than 10 years since it first opened its doors, Schuba’s still continues to bring its Chicago residents only the best in food and entertainment experiences. The Schuba’s schedule of performers largely varies between its weekday and weekend acts. The weekday line-ups that appear on the Schuba’s schedule usually feature some of the top up-and-coming Midwestern bands. The weekend Schuba’s schedule, on the other hand, is reserved for various established indie artists. Regardless of the night, the line-up at Schuba’s Chicago is bound to be a crowd pleaser.
