Join Hull-House for the exhibition opening of Claiming Space: Creative Grounds and Freedom Summer School, a collaborative exhibition featuring designs by students from 360 Nation's Freedom Summer School, a community organization based out of Charles Sumner Elementary, and an interactive visualization by artists collective Creative Grounds that maps and tracks the closing and consolidation of Chicago Public Schools. At 6pm there will be a free public discussion Who Fights for our  Schools? Moderated by Dr. Elizabeth Todd-Breland, UIC Department of History and  featuring: Fatima Cooke, Principle of Charles Sumner Math & Science Academy, Dr. Gabriel Cortez, Associate Professor of Literacy, Leadership and Development, Northeastern Illinois University, Carolina Gaete-Tapia, Co-Director of Blocks Together, and Tammie Vinson, Special Education Teacher and Chair AFT Black Caucus Chicago.
