Aimee Mann: Aimee Mann transitioned from the front-woman of an '80s New Wave group to an Academy-Award nominated songwriter and indie solo star. Aimee Mann's signature folk vocals have been a staple on radio and MTV since her days with 'Til Tuesday in the mid-80s. With seven indie studio albums under her belt, Aimee Mann continues to provide her fans with some of the most inspiring and well-crafted music in rock. Aimee Mann tour dates have been scheduled alongside fellow folk-rocker, Liz Phair, this Summer, 2011. The Virginia native attended the prestigious Berklee College of Music in Boston before leaving the school to front the punk band, The Young Snakes. Following the dissolution of that band, Mann founded the '80s new wave group, 'Til Tuesday in 1985 and soon found immediate success. The band's debut album, Voices Carry, was written entirely by Mann and featured the tittle song which became their signature track. The single reached the top ten on the Billboard 100 and the music video earned 'Til Tuesday the MTV VIdeo Music Award for Best New Artist. 'Til Tuesday would go one to release two more moderately successful albums before Mann decided to pursue a solo career while on tour in 1990. Mann released her first solo effort, Whatever, in 1993 and I'm With Stupid in 1995, both of which were well-received by critics and fans alike.

While Mann's albums were critical favorites in the trades, her sales weren't stellar and she clashed with record execs. In 1999, after befriending famed director Paul Thomas Anderson, Mann was recruited to record material for his upcoming film, Magnolia. Mann wrote and recorded the hit single, "Save Me", which was prominently featured in the film. The song was nominated for an Academy Award and a Grammy Award and Mann regained her place in the spotlight. Aimee Mann tour dates were highly coveted intimate shows and her new found critical acclaim prompted her to found her own label, SuperEgo Records, in 1999. She self-released her long delayed Bachelor No. 2 and toured extensively. Alongside Fiona Apple, Aimee Mann tour dates were scheduled on the Acoustic Vaudeville tour.

Since launching her own label, Mann has released five albums including @#%&*! Smilers, in 2008. Her latest album debuted at #2 on Billboard's Independent Albums chart and she has continued to promote the disc. She also released a Christmas album and has launched an annual Christmas Tour, which continues to sell out shows. In June, 2011 Aimee Mann tour dates were announced alongside The Weepies, Liz Phair, and the Wilderness of Manitoba for a California-wide tour throughout 2011. The varied career of Aimee Mann has spanned punk to New Wave to folk for which she has been nominated for an Academy Award and several Grammy's. Now, the storyteller is on tour.
